MASTER’S PROGRAM IN POLITICAL LEADERSHIP & GOVERNMENT (MPG)

The Master’s in Political Leadership and Government (MPG) is a comprehensive two-year program designed to equip students with practical insights into the complexities of politics and governance, and prepare them for a career as Political Leaders. 
Structured across four semesters, the program blends theoretical learning with real-world experience:

  • Year 1 (On-Campus): Engages students in classroom sessions, field visits, and study tours to build a strong foundation in political systems and governance.

  • Year 2 (Off-Campus): Focuses on immersive internships and professional attachments, providing hands-on exposure to political and administrative environments.

 

All courses are compulsory and meticulously crafted to develop a holistic understanding of political leadership, governance, and public administration, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to take on leadership roles in the political sphere.

MPG Batch 21 Classes commence: First week of August 2025

Fees: 

Course Fees + Exam Fees - INR 3,10, 000/- Payable in four installments.

Syllabus 

The first year of the MPG programme focuses on on-campus learning, blending academic excellence with real-world exposure.

Key Learning Components:

  • Classroom Lectures – Delivered by core and visiting faculty.

  • Interactive Sessions – Engage with national leaders from Politics, Bureaucracy, Judiciary, Media, Corporate, and the Social Sector.

  • Field Visits – Gain hands-on experience through visits to Gram Panchayats, Zilla Parishads, Municipal Corporations, State Assemblies, Cooperatives, and NGOs.

  • Study Tours – Learn about Constituency & Election Campaign Management through structured study tours.

  • National Study Tour – A 10-day visit to Delhi provides first-hand exposure to the political ecosystem.

 

Core Areas of Study:

  • Political Management – Covers verbal & written communication, advertising & branding, social media management, and public relations.

  • Constituency Management – Learn to manage a constituency efficiently, whether as an MP, MLA, Corporator, or Gram Panchayat member.

  • Campaign & Election Management – Understand election planning at all levels, including Lok Sabha, State Assembly, Municipal Corporation, Zilla Parishad, and

  • Gram Panchayat elections. Topics include media strategy, research, data analytics, and psephology.

  • Public Policy & International Relations – Essential for understanding governance in a globalised world.

 

The second year is dedicated to off-campus internships & training, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world political environments.

Internship Opportunities:
  • Constituency-based Internship – Work with elected representatives.

  • Issue-based Internship – Address key social and political issues.

  • NGO Internship – Contribute to policy-making and grassroots initiatives.

  • Media Internship – Learn political communication strategies.

  • Final Internship with Political Parties & Leaders – A stepping stone to establish a career in the political sector.

This unique blend of academic learning and practical exposure equips students with the skills and experience needed to thrive in the field of governance and leadership.
