Dr. K Gireesan Professor and Director

Dr. K Gireesan is the Director, School of Government, MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune. Previous Positions held Head, Dept. of Local Governance; Head, Centre for Policy and Action Research; Faculty Head, Panchayati Raj Institutions and Youth Affairs; Dean (Students’ Welfare) and Controller of Examinations at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, Sriperumbudur. He was also the Officer on Special Duty at RGNIYD Regional Centre, Chandigarh. He obtained Post Graduate and Doctoral degrees in Public Administration from Panjab University, Chandigarh. At present, he is engaged in formulation of a ‘Constituency Management System’, an ICT-enabled Spatial Decision Support System, as a Tool and Strategy to support the political leadership. Member of the Doctoral committee & Editorial Advisory Board of Indian Journal of Sustainable Development, Central University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He has authored/ co-authored/ editor of twelve books, research reports and micro-level studies and published papers in national/ international journals. He is a Life Member of Indian Institute of Public Administration, Indian Political Science Association, Bengal Institute of Political Studies, Indian Adult Education Association, and Extension Education Society.

Prof. Sridhar Pabbisetty

Senior Director 

Sridhar Pabbisetty is the Senior Director of School Of Government at MIT, Pune. AT MITSOG,our learners are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experiences required to become leaders in politics and government to make a positive impact on society. He is a wellknown Public Policy and Inclusive Governance specialist. Prior to joining MITSOG, he was the Founding Director of Kautilya School of Public Policy. He laid the foundation for the school to be a leading home grown institution that contextualized global advances in public policy for India He is also the Chief Enabler at Centre for Inclusive Governance, a citizens collective for social actions on public problems. Sridhar has devised various innovative campaigns and executed public policy interventions and legal strategies to ensure these campaigns culminate in meaningful action. For his outstanding contribution to societal change, he was awarded the “Distinguished Alumni Award” in 2018 by his alma mater - Ramaiah Institute of Technology. Sridhar is a regular speaker at various national and international fora on the issues of open governance, inclusive growth, emerging technology and also advises various government departments on the same. This includes the Harvard India Conference, Mobile India Conference and IIMB Management Review Conference on Global Supply Chain Management. Sridhar is a prolific writer having co-authored - a case study for Harvard Business Review, a book chapter in “How Think Tanks Shape Social Development Policies” published by Penn Press of University of Pennsylvania, apart from regularly writing columns and features in various leading newspapers and magazines. He is a regular media panellist in various national and regional news channels. He was an expert member in the drafting committee of the Joint Legislative House Committee on Conservation of Lakes in Bengaluru. He was also a member of the Bellandur Lake Rejuvenation Monitoring committee setup by Government of Karnataka to develop a comprehensive development plan for revival of Bellandur Lake. He has been an advisor to the Government of Karnataka's Sakala Mission in improving Transparency and Accountability in Governance. He was part of various government committees including Simplification of Citizen oriented forms in BESCOM. He was a special invitee to the Karnataka Tourism Vision Group. He specializes in nurturing inclusive enterprises across the world and helps them to develop long term corporate strategy and build business models with focus on scalability and sustainability. He has also worked on Electoral Reforms being part of the National Election Watch and leading the NEW efforts for the 2008 assembly and 2009 Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka. Sridhar was the Chief Executive Officer of Namma Bengaluru Foundation (NBF). NBF is a notfor-profit organization founded upon the growing desire and pressure to make collective social engagement more effective in improving the city and citizens’ life. Prior to joining Namma Bengaluru Foundation, Sridhar was the Chief Operating Officer of the Centre for Public Policy, IIM Bangalore. His focus was on building and maintaining relationship with all members in the public policy ecosystem - government, regulatory bodies, industry, opinion leaders, researchers, partner institutions and foundations that are focused on policy research. He has also served as the Chief Programs Officer at the Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC - www.bpac.in). Earlier Sridhar has worked with fast growing hi-tech companies including Zyme Solutions, Aditi Technologies and iCOPE Technologies.He has been on the panel of judges of various start-up competitions including the Acara Challenge. Sridhar has an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and a BE in Computer Science with distinction from Bangalore University. Lectures and talks frequently given on topics including: Empathy led redesigning of Government Services, Social Cartography, Doing Business in India, Decision Making Under Uncertainty, Indian Governance, Urbanization, Sustainability, Public Policy and Law - ranging from drafting of new laws, Government procedures, Information Visualization, Right to Information Act, Right to Public Services, Public Interest Litigations and Social Audits.

Completed Post-graduation in International Politics from JNU. Received M.Phil on the topic China's Nuclear Policy under Deng Xiaoping and pursuing Ph D in JNU on the topic State and Society Relations in China in the context of Globalization. Has worked with NGOs and international organizations for over 5 years as a Researcher. Earlier worked as a Marathi Newsreader at AIR Delhi. Regular columnist with Marathi newspapers and participated in Prime Time discussions on TV9, Jai Maharashtra and ABP Maza. Had served as elected Joint Secretary and Vice President of JNU Students Union.

Received M.Phil in International Relations from Centre for Russian and Central Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Had served as President of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU). Completed Post-graduation in International Politics from School of International Studies.

Asst. Prof. Neelam Pandit has over 20 years of experience working for the development of Urban, Rural and Tribal Communities. She has strong knowledge and grassroot level experience in livelihood promotion, capacity building, networking, program planning and implementation for the vulnerable communities. She heads MIT-World Peace University’s flagship program Rural Immersion Program. Former President: Maharashtra Human Rights Council (Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry)

Chinmay Bendre

Mr. Chinmay Bendre holds a Post-graduation Master’s certificate in Government from MIT School of Government and has worked with Professor Dr. M.V. Rajeev Gowda during Karnataka Assembly Elections. He was associated with Shri. Rajeev Satav and assisted him on legislative research. He was instrumental in conducting research in areas such as Industry (Sugar Mills), Agriculture (farm bills), Governance (lowering the age of consent for contesting elections), and Social empowerment (Unemployment allowance), and also drafted starred questions for Shri. Satav.
